CW&T exists to create the things we want to see in the world. That is the first thing you read when you click “about us” on their website. In 2017, Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy founded a design practice in Brooklyn, integrating their backgrounds in architecture, film, and computer science. They were awarded the 2022 National Design Award for Product Design from Cooper Hewitt. In addition to their design work, they teach, contribute to open-source projects, and support independent design practices. Since their establishment, they have set guiding principles to steer them in the right direction. However, these principles are flexible and may change as they progress.
STAY SMALL – In today’s world, two people can move mountains. They believe they can go from idea to creation much faster than a boardroom full of gremlins. Perfect for engineers who enjoy a good pen, and everyone knows that a durable, precise ruler is essential in mechanical or structural engineering. With the CW&T, you have the best of both words in one exceptionally well-crafted tool. Manufactured to the highest tolerances, you can even hear a popping sound when removing the pen from its ruler-type sheath, and because it is made from solid blocks of stainless steel, there is a very satisfying heft to the product. Its design is so avant-garde that in 2023, it was added to the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum's permanent collection. Currently available is the Classic setup, featuring a standard ruler with metric and imperial scale markings. It also includes a black Pilot Hi-Tec-C 0.3mm ink cartridge.

This next one is the perfect pen for discerning students or anyone who enjoys putting pen to paper. Made from polished Grade 5 titanium, it is manufactured to such high tolerances that, like the Type A, it creates the same extremely satisfying piston effect when removing or inserting the pen into or out of its minimalist sheath. It even has a clever flat side so it does not roll away from you when placed on uneven surfaces. Inside the sleeve, as on the previous model, there is an N52 neodymium magnet to secure the pen body, along with a rubber tip protector. Titanium is a challenging material to work with. However, one of its advantages is that it is significantly lighter than steel or brass. This one also comes with a black Pilot Hi-Tec-C 0.3mm ink cartridge.

Our next pen will appeal to those who enjoy sketching at a moment's notice whenever inspiration strikes. It is a highly distinctive and remarkably slim pen, which, together with its pocket clip, makes it an excellent choice for everyday carry. Also crafted from lightweight grade 5 titanium, its slender design even allows you to store it in a book without adding bulk or weight. Ingeniously, a steel wire snaps in place to protect the tip instead of a cap or a push button retraction system. It can also be used effectively as a fidget toy, allowing you to flick it open and close. Unlike the other two, this one comes with a Hi-Tec-C Coleto ink cartridge that never dries or leaks. It is available in the shop in two finishes: natural titanium or black cerakote.
