Just A Minute With The Wuben E8 V2 Modular Flashlight

As watch enthusiasts, we’ve attended our fair share of meetups and events where someone has loudly asked: “Does anyone have a lume torch with them?” While a standard flashlight can do the job in a pinch, we know that a dedicated UV light does the best job of charging up a watch for that perfect lumeshot. Rather than carrying two torches, one white light and one UV, we wanted an all-in-one solution, and we found just that with the Wuben E8.
At its core, the Wuben E8 is a 3-in-1 multipurpose flashlight with a unique, futuristic/ mechanical aesthetic that's as functional as it is interesting. While flashlights with multiple power settings have become quite common in recent years, the E8 is one of the first lights we’ve seen that offers forward-facing white and UV light modes, along with a side lantern mode capable of throwing light in every direction. At full power, the forward-facing white light can pump out over 1300 lumens and throw light over 100 meters, ensuring you’re not stuck in the dark. Internally, the E8 features a “dual fuel” system which allows it to run on the provided USB-C rechargeable battery, or in a pinch, a standard AA battery.
For the times when you need to go hands-free, the side lantern mode offers two strengths of light and a dedicated beacon mode if you need to signal your location. Speaking of that side lantern mode, the E8 comes with removable Ultem panels that give it such a distinct look, but additional panels are available through Wuben directly. While the multiple white light modes are fantastic, the true star of the show is the dedicated UV mode, perfect for charging up the lume on your watch. When we added these to the shop, Garrett immediately snagged one for himself and has been using it non-stop. It’s safe to say he’s quite a fan.
