That's a wrap.
Watches and Wonders is now behind us and one of the biggest takeaways from the fair was a continued emphasis on titanium. From IWC's premium Ingenieur to Rolex and their new Yacht-Master. Even Zenith joined in with their new Defy Revival Shadow. Clearly, the larger brands are going to continue exploring their use of this light and strong material.
But don't fret, you can still be a part of the fun without creeping up to the five figure tier of watches. Here are three such watches we currently have in the shop, made of titanium, that are relatively affordable.
ADPT SERIES 1
I always find it fascinating how many of our customers don't realize that the ADPT Series 1 watches in the shop are titanium. It's a specification that tends to slip under the radar, especially when one gets immediately entranced by the unique color ways.
Couple that with the 200m of water resistance, sapphire glass as well as the reasonable 38mm sizing and it's no wonder why this watch represents a brand that stands for All-Day Purpose and Terrain.
Add a $449 price tag and I can easily campaign for affordable being the next word after Terrain.
CITIZEN PROMASTER DIVE FUJITSUBO AUTOMATIC
Citizens Promaster Dive Fujitsubo Automatic is one of those watches that are delightfully overspec'd.
Making use of Citizen's Super Titanium, which is claimed to be 5 times more scratch resistant than steel, the watch perfectly encompasses everything you would want in a diver. More wearable 40mm size. 200 meters of water resistance. Svelte 12.3mm thickness. On the fly adjustment clasp.
Icing on the cake? This watch is currently on sale for $796, on bracelet, in the shop.
JUNGHANS FORM A TITAN
One thing that often gets lost in the conversations about titanium watches is the fact that the material isn't strictly used on tool watches. It can be a great foundation for an every day casual watch as well. A perfect example of that being the Junghans Form A Titan.
With the Form A Titan, Junghans takes the simplicity and legibility of classic Bauhaus design and quite literally makes it edgier. Sharp facets are cut into the 40mm titanium case which has this subtle greyish hue. When taken together, you get this smart casual look that would be perfectly suited for the office or a dinner date.
And at $1150, lobster could still a viable option on the menu.
