Founded in 2020 in the historic city of Kyoto, Kuoe is a Japanese watch brand dedicated to reviving the charm of vintage timepieces with a contemporary sensibility. Inspired by founder Uchimura’s early encounters with antique hand-wound watches in London, Kuoe embraces the warmth and timelessness of mid-20th-century design while reinterpreting it for today’s wearer. After refining his craft within a local watch company, Uchimura launched Kuoe with the release of the Old Smith 90-001, a model that encapsulates the brand’s mission: to share Kyoto’s refined aesthetics and enduring traditions through thoughtfully crafted watches that balance heritage and modernity.
