For Pilot watch enthusiasts, Laco watches really need no introduction. Founded in 1925, they were one of the original manufacturers of German Flieger watches. Still based in Pforzheim, Germany, Laco is known for their exacting quality, exceptional finishing, and attention to design detail.
The Grün 42 comes in either an Augsburg or Aachen dial layout (Type A or Type B respectively). Both watches feature Roman sword hands that are easy to read at a glance with bold white numerals and markers sitting on a greenish, teal dial. These watches are both 42mm, as the name suggests, and for the first time feature a mixture of a brushed case and polished bezel. Water resistance is 50 meters.
Powering both watches is the Laco 2S (Miyota 82S0 based) automatic movement. This Japanese caliber is well regarded for its reliability and rugged construction. The 82S0 features 21-jewels, 42 hr power reserve, hand winding and a beats at a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour.
Each version of the Grün 42 is limited to 250 pieces.

In the 1940's, only a handful of companies were selected to manufacture pilots watches for the German Airforce. Laco was one of these companies, and today they bring that heritage to their watches. You'll notice that their "original" series all feature "FL23883" engraved into the case, on the side opposite from the crown. This number indicates the watch was made to military specification for pilots.
