For Pilot watch enthusiasts, Laco watches really needs no introduction. Founded in 1925, they were one of the original manufacturers of German Flieger watches. Still based in Pforzheim, Germany, Laco is known for their exacting quality, exceptional finishing, and attention to design detail.

The Augsburg 39 is Laco's modern, well-priced update to the classic Flieger design. Featuring a "Type A" dial with bold numerals about a clean dial, it's all about high legibility no matter the circumstance. Large Roman sword hands make reading the time at a glance an easy task as well. As per the name, this version features a 39mm case, rendered in beautifully finished brushed (black dial) or matte (blue dial) steel, making it a great everyday wear.

Powering the Augsburg is the Miyota 821A automatic movement. This Japanese caliber is well regarded for its reliability and rugged construction. The 821A features 21-jewels, 42 hr power reserve, quickset date and a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour.

Authentic Heritage

In the 1940's, only a handful of companies were selected to manufacture pilots watches for the German Airforce. Laco was one of these companies, and today they bring that heritage to their watches. You'll notice that their "original" series all feature "FL23883" engraved into the case, on the side opposite from the crown. This number indicates the watch was made to military specification for pilots.
