The Timex Marlin is a classic dress watch known for its 34mm case, vintage typeface hour numerals, and faux-gator leather strap. Featuring a bolder numeral typeface that is more legible and playful, the watches in the Marlin Sub-Dial Automatic collection immediately take on a more relaxed aesthetic. They also include a traditional date window at 3:00 and a 24-hour sub-dial at 9:00, moving away from the simple dials found on the original Marlin. The dials also have a vertical brushed finish, while the sub-dial has a radial texture. The 39mm case continues with the brushed finishing on the steel bezel while adding polishing to the lugs.
Powering the watches in the Timex Marlin Sub-Dial Automatic collection is the Miyota Caliber 8217. It has a BPH of 21,600 and a power reserve of 42 hours. It features hacking seconds, a quick set date, 24 hour display and a date.
