For Pilot watch enthusiasts, Laco watches really needs no introduction. Founded in 1925, they were one of the original manufacturers of German Flieger watches. Still based in Pforzheim, Germany, Laco is known for their exacting quality, exceptional finishing, and attention to design detail.

With the Kiel Sport Chronograph, named after the port city on Germany’s Baltic coast, Laco has skillfully introduced chronograph, day, and date complications into their classic Flieger format with a stealthy design. This 100m water resistant three-register chronograph features a Type A Flieger dial in a 43mm sandblasted stainless steel case, unidirectional ceramic timing bezel, and C3 SuperLumiNova. The thermally-blued hands in the subdials track running seconds, elapsed time up to 30 minutes, and hours. The Kiel Sport comes on a stitched black calf leather strap, an elevated touch to the otherwise rugged chronograph.

The Kiel Sport Chronograph is powered by the Sellita SW500 derived Laco 500, an automatic chronograph movement featuring 25 jewels, hacking, handwinding, quickset day/date, a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, and a 56-hour power reserve.

About Laco

In the 1940's, only a handful of companies were selected to manufacture pilots watches for the German Airforce. Laco was one of these companies, and today they bring that heritage to their watches. You'll notice that their "original" series all feature "FL23883" engraved into the case, on the side opposite from the crown. This number indicates the watch was made to military specification for pilots.
