Our latest collaboration is here, and it's a game-changer. Marking our fourth year with Timex, the new Version 4 is more than just a watch—it's a mechanical, lume-filled field watch that blends vintage charm with an entirely new, expressive design approach. Get ready for a deep dive into the watch that's proving you don't have to spend a fortune for a truly special timepiece.

This marks our fourth year collaborating with Timex, and while there are a few familiar elements carried over from previous releases, Version 4 introduces some meaningful changes. At the foundation is the same 37mm case we’ve come to love — a design pulled from the 1970s that originally leaned dressy, but which we’ve reworked here to feel more casual and everyday-ready. Brushing and subtle bevels add texture and visual interest, and that case treatment remains consistent across all four versions of our Timex collaborations.

Where this release really differentiates itself is the dial. This is an entirely new design we’ve been calling a field watch with a twist. Field watches are inherently versatile, practical, and easy to wear — but there are already plenty of great examples out there. Our goal was to create something that still felt rooted in that tradition while leaning into a more distinctly Worn & Wound approach. You’ll find classic field watch cues like large hour numerals, a 13–24 hour track, and a minutes-and-seconds index laid out in a sector-style format. Rather than keeping everything to a single color, the dial is broken into sections, allowing for more depth and a more expressive use of color.

The design detail that ultimately brought the dial together was the use of italicized hour numerals. That small shift adds a sense of motion and energy, giving the watch a bit more personality without sacrificing legibility. For the first time in one of our Timex collaborations, we’ve also introduced lume — applied to both the hour numerals and hands — adding another layer of everyday practicality. The two colorways, Whirlpool and Storm, were inspired by cool winter tones: Whirlpool plays with rich and light blues separated by railroad tracks, while Storm leans into layered grays with subtle blue accents that feel like light breaking through heavy clouds.

Rounding things out, Version 4 is also our first mechanical Timex collaboration. The watch is powered by a hand-wound Seagull movement — a choice that felt especially compelling at this price point, and one that adds a simple daily ritual to wearing the watch. We also introduced custom packaging for the first time, featuring our italicized numerals arranged across a bright orange outer box, with teal and orange details inside to complete the experience. The Timex x Worn & Wound Version 4 is priced at $299 (list current sales price), limited to 500 pieces per color, and is available now at the Windup Watch Shop and in our Brooklyn showroom.
