An integrated icon gets a golden finish
The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 in Rose Gold PVD brings a bold new look to one of Tissot’s most iconic silhouettes. Combining the sleek, integrated case of the original 1978 PRX with a rich rose gold PVD coating and deep sunburst blue dial, this automatic model delivers vintage inspiration with a distinctly modern twist.
One of the best divers under $1000
Introduced over seven decades ago, Tissot’s Seastar line continues to mark the brand’s premier line of water-resistant watches. The Le Locle firm’s latest offering — the Seastar 1000 — honors that past while combining modern looks and Swiss manufacturing into a diver’s watch rated to, you guessed it, 1,000 ft (330 meters).
A touch of vintage flair
A brand that is not afraid to dip its toes in the past, Tissot has a knack for creating timepieces with effortless vintage style. For its most recent trip into the archives, Tissot has resurrected a couple of watches from the late 1930s. An era of classic, stripped-down design with Bauhaus influence, there is a timelessness that makes them feel almost contemporary. This particular quality really comes through in the new Tissot Heritage Gent Auto COSC 1938.
Tissot brings back a track legend!
The PR516 chronograph of 1970 was a modern marvel for its time. It featured a triple register layout, tachymetric bezel, luminous hands, and a reputation for reliability. This was so much the case that Peruvian rally legend Henry Bradley wore one and famously etched its name on his Ferrari race car. That wasn’t all; a world-famous MI6 agent strapped on the same watch in his famous 1973 film, Live and Let Die. So how has Tissot considered this weighty heritage as it reimagines the PR516 chronograph for today? With the new, handwound PR516 Mechanical.
An integrated icon from the past!
While Tissot is a storied Swiss watchmaker, having been founded in 1880, right now they are best known for their line of sexy, 70s-inspired sports watches called PRX. A throwback to an era of bell bottoms, big cars, record players, etc… the PRXs feature an “integrated bracelet” design, meaning the case and bracelet or strap seamlessly flow into each other. A sleek-looking concept, it became the rage in the 70s, exuding a certain luxurious bravado, and had a recent resurgence. The PRX executes the concept with style to spare, all at an affordable price point.
